Portland Lime Sand Mortar Masonry

Cement mortar must be mixed just before use so that it does not cure prematurely. Masonry sand is ideal, and can be purchased from most building supply stores. Add any dry additives according to the directions on the package and stir the powdered mixture thoroughly. Adding lime to the mortar will improve its workability, make the mortar more water resistant, and will reduce the amount of shrinkage upon curing.

If it is necessary to restore workability, mortar may be retempered by adding water and remixing. Preblended with sand to minimize labour costs. Great workability and board life.
