It successfully drilled about 30 3″ holes in cinderblock before it broke. The metal shaft sheared when used in my hammer drill. After another 1″, the spade had disintegrated entirely. These bits fit into standard 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch chucks. But once set, they drill in quite nice. I think it might be the easier part of my job. Dewalt impact tool to drill 18, six inch deep, holes into an existing concrete slab and it worked perfectly on every hole. Crafted for the average 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch sized chuck, the bits in this set are intended to make holes for mechanical anchors.
Worked great on freshly plastered lathe over plaster and cinder block walls. Still going strong after 50 some holes (use of anchors and screws with picture hangers and right angle hooks into anchors for hanging pots and pans etc.).
Exacto worked fine to open for easier removal and storage. I think they are a great value and go through masonry cleanly and work great. The selection of sizes for a 1/2 inch drill are really useful. I opened it and took the 1/4″ out to test the hammer/drill just bought.
