Anchor Drywall Fasteners Vs. Masonry

Self-tapping anchors avoid this with the use of an anchor sleeve with large threads that can securely grip the core of wallboard panels.  In practice, it is easy to overtighten the anchors, leading to wall damage.

Masonry to Masonry

There are many different types of fasteners, and their uses vary depending on three main factors: load/weight capabilities, environmental conditions and base material.

For example, outside-use anchors are made with a coating for corrosion and temperature protection. We specialize in distributing hardware in bulk for the sake of cost efficiency and assured quality. Block – all anchors except the wedge anchor and drop-in anchor can be used in block.
Mortar – all anchors except the wedge anchor and drop-in anchor can be used in mortar.
How heavy is the object to be fastened? When using an adjustable system, the two anchors cannot be more than 1 ¼-inch out of plane.  The extra length of the long lag shield allows for deeper embedment into the brick which creates the potential for better holding values. Self-tapping anchors avoid this with the use of an anchor sleeve with large threads that can securely grip the core of wallboard panels.

To use these anchors properly, drive the anchors only until the face is flush with the wall, and resist the urge to overtighten them.  These anchors are inexpensive but work adequately if installed into plaster, masonry, or some other solid material. This will force the plastic anchor to expand, tightening it securely against the solid surrounding material. Use a wire brush the same diameter as the hole. Use a vacuum to remove all dust and debris. Use a hammer to tap the anchor until the nut and washer are flush with the surface.
Turn clockwise three to five turns, or until the specified installation torque is reached.
Make sure that the anchor is not over torqued. The strike anchor is not available in either a stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized. Zinc plated carbon steel is the only material that they are made from. They offer twice as much strength as regular plastic expansion anchors.  The anchor won't function properly unless this is done, even though it might feel strong when it's screwed in.  Plastic anchors should be installed carefully to prevent them from being damaged. As the screw is tightened into the hole, the sleeve will expand.
